Fes – Marrakech
Your exciting journey through the Moroccan desert starts today. We’ll pick you up from your Fez hotel at 8 AM and head south.
First, we’ll visit the charming town of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Take in its beauty and capture memorable moments in this picturesque city.
Next, we’ll venture to Azrou to encounter playful monkeys in the cedar forest. After a delicious lunch in Midelt, we’ll cross the stunning Tizi N Talghamt pass and marvel at the breathtaking Ziz Gorges.
Our journey continues towards the enchanting Erg Chebbi Dunes, passing through Aoufous and Erfoud, renowned for its fossil crafts. In Erfoud, you can explore a local workshop and witness the artistry of fossil transformation.
Upon reaching Erg Chebbi, saddle up for a camel trek as the sun dips below the horizon. Experience the magic of the dunes and spend the night in a cozy desert camp. Savor a delightful dinner, immerse yourself in the rhythmic beats of Saharan music, and drift off to sleep under the starry desert sky.
Your day begins with a hearty breakfast, followed by an exhilarating 4×4 excursion through the dunes. Marvel at the rugged volcanic terrain, meet a nomadic family, and lose yourself in the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music. Discover the enchanting Dayte Sarji Lake, a seasonal haven for flamingos and other wildlife. After a delightful lunch, explore a traditional irrigation system and wander through a peaceful oasis. As the sun dips below the horizon, embark on a romantic camel trek, taking in the breathtaking desert scenery. Spend the night under the stars in a cozy nomad tent, enjoying a delicious dinner and the tranquility of the desert.
Rise early to experience a magical sunrise from the summit of a desert dune. Following a camel trek back to Merzouga, embark on a scenic drive through Erfoud and Tinejdad to Tineghir. Pause for lunch and admire the stunning landscapes along the way. Arrive at the awe-inspiring Todra Gorges, where you can hike through the towering canyon walls. Continue to Boumalne Dades, stopping for a panoramic view of the Dades Valley. Enjoy dinner and a restful night in a traditional hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a journey to Marrakech. Our route takes us through the picturesque Rose Valley, renowned for its damascene roses used in cosmetics. We’ll also pass through the vast Skoura palm grove, a stunning oasis with over 700,000 palm trees and numerous traditional kasbahs.
Our next stop is Ouarzazate, often called the “Gate of the Desert.” Here, we’ll admire the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most spectacular fortified palaces. We’ll also enjoy a panoramic view of the kasbah and a photo opportunity near the Atlas Film Studios.
Continuing our journey, we’ll visit the historic ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient fortified village has served as a backdrop for numerous films, including “Gladiator” and “The Mummy.” You’ll have free time to explore the area and enjoy lunch.
In the afternoon, we’ll ascend the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass at an altitude of 2260 meters. Upon reaching Marrakech, our services will conclude.
