Fes – Marrakech
Your exciting journey through the Moroccan desert starts today. We’ll pick you up from your Fez hotel at 8 AM and head south.
First, we’ll visit the charming town of Ifrane, often called the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Take in its beauty and capture memorable moments in this picturesque city.
Next, we’ll venture to Azrou to encounter playful monkeys in the cedar forest. After a delicious lunch in Midelt, we’ll cross the stunning Tizi N Talghamt pass and marvel at the breathtaking Ziz Gorges.
Our journey continues towards the enchanting Erg Chebbi Dunes, passing through Aoufous and Erfoud, renowned for its fossil crafts. In Erfoud, you can explore a local workshop and witness the artistry of fossil transformation.
Upon reaching Erg Chebbi, saddle up for a camel trek as the sun dips below the horizon. Experience the magic of the dunes and spend the night in a cozy desert camp. Savor a delightful dinner, immerse yourself in the rhythmic beats of Saharan music, and drift off to sleep under the starry desert sky.
Early Morning Adventure and Scenic Drive
Start your day by witnessing a breathtaking sunrise from the top of a dune. After this magical experience, we’ll embark on a journey through the stunning landscapes of Morocco. Our route will take us through Erfoud and Tinejdad, with a lunch break along the way.
Todra Gorges and Dades Valley
We’ll continue our adventure to the impressive Todra Gorges, where you can hike through narrow canyons and admire the towering cliffs. As the day winds down, we’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the Dades Valley before checking into our accommodation. After a delicious Moroccan dinner, you’ll spend the night in comfort.
This morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we’ll head to Marrakech. Our first stop is the Rose Valley, located within the vast Skoura palm grove, home to over 700,000 palm trees and numerous kasbahs. This valley is renowned for its cultivation of damascene roses, used in cosmetics.
Next, we’ll journey to Ouarzazate, often called “The Gate of the Desert.” Here, we’ll explore the impressive Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most spectacular fortified palaces. After admiring panoramic views of the kasbah, we’ll visit the Atlas film studios.
Later, we’ll discover the fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou, famous for its kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This stunning location has served as a backdrop for numerous films, including Gladiator, Obelix, The Mummy, and The Jewel of the Nile. We’ll have free time for lunch in town.
In the afternoon, we’ll ascend the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi N’Tichka Pass (2260 m) before arriving in Marrakech. This concludes our desert adventure, and we’ll transfer you to your hotel or riad.
